New York Hotspot, The Corner Store, Lands on The Strip

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas announced today it's bringing The Corner Store to the resort in late 2026, marking the first expansion outside New York City for this SoHo darling. The announcement reveals that the acclaimed restaurant from Catch Hospitality Group will replace Blue Ribbon American Grill & Oyster Bar, which closes permanently on February 16.

Since opening in SoHo in late 2024, The Corner Store has earned a reputation as one of the toughest reservations in the country. The concept comes from the team behind the successful CATCH at ARIA, so there's already proven chemistry between the hospitality group and MGM Resorts.

What Sets This Apart

What caught my attention isn‘t just another celebrity chef expansion - it’s the food itself. The Corner Store's menu reads like elevated comfort food done right: Lobster & Caviar Rolls, Five Cheese Pizza Rolls, and Wagyu French Dip alongside premium steaks. These aren‘t your typical Vegas interpretations of American classics - they’re reimagined dishes with serious technique behind them.

The beverage program centers on creative martinis, which could be refreshing in a town oversaturated with craft cocktail concepts trying too hard. Sometimes the best approach is mastering the fundamentals with quality ingredients and proper execution.

“Expanding our partnership with MGM Resorts to bring The Corner Store to Las Vegas was a natural next step,” said Eugene Remm, Partner of Catch Hospitality Group, in the press release. The partnership makes sense - CATCH at ARIA has maintained quality since its 2018 opening, avoiding the typical Vegas trap of style over substance.

Vegas Dining Evolution

This addition represents something important happening in Vegas dining right now. The city is moving beyond celebrity chef name drops toward concepts with proven track records and authentic identity. The Corner Store built its reputation in New York‘s notoriously demanding food scene before expanding - that’s the right way to do it.

The location at The Cosmopolitan provides the perfect stage for this type of concept. The resort has consistently supported restaurants that prioritize food quality alongside atmosphere, creating an environment where serious cooking can thrive alongside the entertainment factor.

The fact that they're taking over Blue Ribbon's space signals confidence in the concept. That‘s prime real estate at one of the Strip’s most food-focused properties, and they wouldn‘t hand it over to anything they weren’t certain would deliver.

Expect more details on opening timeline and reservations at The Cosmopolitan in the coming months. Based on the New York buzz and the team‘s Vegas track record, this one’s worth watching.
