Elvis Returns to His Vegas Throne
Honey, I‘ve seen a lot of premieres in this town over the decades, but this one’s got me feeling all kinds of nostalgic. The Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino announced they're hosting the Las Vegas premiere of “EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert” on February 10, 2026, and get this – it's happening right inside the International Theater where the King himself performed 636 sold-out shows. That‘s the same stage where Elvis made Vegas history night after night, and now Baz Luhrmann’s bringing him back to life on the big screen in the exact spot where it all happened.
This isn't just any movie screening, darling. The free premiere starts at 7:00 PM and tickets are first-come, first-served, so you better move fast if you want in. The film already had folks dancing in the aisles at the Toronto International Film Festival, and I can only imagine what's going to happen when Elvis fans pack into his old stomping grounds.
A Homecoming for the King's Fans
“This is more than a film premiere—it is a moment of deep meaning for Elvis fans everywhere,” said Cami Christensen, President & General Manager of Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, in the press release. She‘s absolutely right – watching an Elvis movie in the theater where he actually performed is like stepping back into Vegas history. I remember when that theater was the hottest ticket in town, and now it’s about to be again.
NEON will be releasing the film exclusively in IMAX on February 20 before it hits regular theaters on February 27. But experiencing it first at the Westgate's International Theater where Elvis made his legendary comeback? That's something my grandkids will never understand the significance of like we do.
More Than Just a Movie
The film comes from Sony Music Vision, Bazmark, and Authentic Studios, with Oscar-nominated director Baz Luhrmann at the helm. If you‘ve seen his work before, you know he doesn’t do anything small – and Elvis deserves that kind of grand treatment. The International Theater has been waiting for this kind of moment since Elvis left the building for the last time.
For those wanting to make it a full evening, the resort's offering pre-screening dining reservations at Edge Steakhouse, Fresco Italiano, or Benihana. Nothing says Vegas like dinner and a show, even when that show happens to be on the silver screen.
Vegas Magic Lives On
What gets me most excited about this premiere is how it connects old Vegas with new Vegas. The kids today might know Elvis from movies and streaming, but experiencing his story in the actual venue where he created magic? That‘s the kind of Vegas moment that reminds you why this city has always been about dreams and legends. I’ll definitely be trying to snag tickets – some things are worth fighting the crowds for, and this is one of them.
