Track #2 (of 5): Hofbrauhaus @Paradise and Harmon

Locals who drive by here all the time don’t know what they’re missing. (Image: Vegas 411)
Vegas of course has recreations of the Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty. How perfect, then, that the city also has a licensed and exact full-scale replica of Munich’s grand, historic beer hall Hofbräuhaus, the original of which I visited way back in 1976.
The one here—a towering, massive structure at the corner of Flamingo and Harmon—opened in 2004. It’s a wondrous place that I recently experienced for the first time having driven by it countless times. Witness the soaring hand-painted ceilings, communal dining benches, and a stage with loud and boisterous Bavarian entertainment. This is where you go to drink, eat, and celebrate life.

Let it be known--they get it right here. (Image: Vegas 411)
Glad to say that the craft beer—“brewed the same way for the last 400 years and imported directly from Munich”—delivered as promised. I paired mine with the “Kartoffelpuffer” appetizer: four heavenly and crispy potato pancakes served with an ample portion of smoked salmon. My guest had a satisfying bratwurst with sauerkraut and fries. A return visit when I’m hungrier is certainly in order. The menu includes schnitzel, sausages, sauerbraten, pretzels, and more, along with desserts like (of course) apple strudel. Everything is brought to you by the accommodating and upbeat waitstaff who are dressed in traditional Bavarian attire.
400 diners can be seated in the beer hall, and there’s also a huge enclosed biergarten where there’s room for another 430 happy souls under a ceiling painted with floating clouds. Might I add that your Bavarian holiday includes a free parking lot?
